Maxwell Russell is the host tonight for the Shoals Songwriters Showcase at Frank’s Italian Restaurant, 500 N. Montgomery Ave., Sheffield. Featured songwriters will include Christopher McKinney and Bryant Burgess.
Hunter Jackson is the guest performer tonight at Somewhere Else, 1816 Darby Drive, Florence. The Velcro Pygmies will be the featured band Saturday night.
Jim Seales, Donny Carpenter and Mitch Curtis — 3 Wheel Drive — will entertain guests 6:30-9:30 p.m. today at FloBama, 311 N. Court St., Florence.
The Travis Wammack Band plays 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday at Good Springs Fish and More, 17901 U.S. 43 N., Russellville. Band members also include Donnie and Jan Gullett and Roger Clark.
Sandbar of the Shoals, 4840 Hatch Blvd., Sheffield, will present Mr. Mayhem on Friday night and Naked Eskimos on Saturday night.
First Degree Band takes the stage Friday at Rattlesnake Saloon, 1292 Mountain Mills Road, Tuscumbia. Rick Mitchell will play on Saturday. Both performances are 6:30-10 p.m.
Tomcat and Bark the Dawg will entertain the crowd Friday night at P.J’s, 701 Davison Ave., Muscle Shoals. On Saturday, Chad Bradford will be the featured musician.
The BeatLads, a Birmingham-based Beatles tribute band will be the featured entertainment for a Beat Out Cancer fundraiser 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the Underwood-Petersville Community Center, Florence. Sheffield Sings, the annual musical and comedy review sponsored by the Sheffield Education Foundation, begins at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Sheffield High School auditorium.
